Are you ready to live life in full colour?
Therapy can sometimes feel clinical, but I do things a bit differently...
My approach
I want to see your favourite cat videos and sci-fi memes, and to hear all about your current SPINs.
I’m passionate about self-care and self-compassion, and will actively role model this for you. Given I’m a psychology nerd, I’ll aim to provide you with the latest tools, research, podcasts and apps.
I spend a significant amount of time exploring what you think good therapy looks and feels like, and what you want from therapy. I believe (and will actively role model) in striving to have authentic and rich connections with people who understand and accept you the way you are- quirks and all.
Tools I use
In therapy sessions, I am led by you and your goals. When able to, I work intuitively to interweave a myriad of tools including these approaches:
-
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
-
Structural Dissociation Therapy and Internal Family Systems (‘Parts Work’)
-
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) adapted to our neurokin
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
-
Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT and RO-DBT- only the ND affirming parts!)
-
Schema Therapy adapted to neurokin, only where respectful and appropriate
I offer a CBT-free zone!
CBT is generally neither effective nor respectful to our neurokin
I'm also a Buddhist who believes that living a life with compassion towards yourself and others is critical
